Atheist and Theist
When we think about it, there is no difference between an atheist and a theist. Both are traveling in the same boat. Both are closed minded. Both have beliefs. Both have accepted something on faith without any inquiry.
An atheist believes is his disbelief that there is no God.A theist believes is his belief that there is God. Disbelief is as ignorant as belief.Communism does not believe in God.Religions believe in God.Neither bothers to inquire whether God really does not exist nor does exist. An atheist has accepted that there is no God, in the same way as the theist has accepted that there is a God.The communist believes in Das Kapital, and the Christian believes in the Bible. Both have the same mind of beliefs only different content.

The X-Men is one of my favorite movies.
You Are Cyclops
Dedicated and responsible, you will always remain loyal to your cause.
You are a commanding leader – after all, you can kill someone just by looking at them.
Power: force beams from your eyes

So – does this mean that our natural state is one of agnosticism?
Agnosticism was my first reaction too. But a person can also be blindly agnostic. My thought is that being locked into blind faith in any type of absolute transforms you from a spiritually open seeker into a close minded follower.
This is an interesting concept. Good post.
So there is no difference in RIGHT or WRONG …. lolz
ryc: Chu Phong … because she is only 14 …. hahaha
No offense but I enjoyed Ron’s post more today.
Aaah, I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this comparrison…I think both sides might hang you to dry…for the statements you make…but I agree in total with you. The third group is those who continue to question – do they have a name as a group?
if you give an athiest really good chocolate cake do they still believe theres no god?
Yes, I totally agree. Someone told me once that it takes just as much effort to prove there’s no God as there is.
Agree to disagree to agree. Have a good one chi..
Amen! It’s all belief.
So who does one become when one realizes deeply that, “I am not my beliefs”?
(the beginning of freedom)
It’s a difficult concept to understand that one person believing one thing, and another person believing the exact opposite thing can – in their eyes – both be right and the other person wrong. Nietzsche once said, “You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.”
Have a great Suinday girl!
that’s interesting. =)
I get you,
But really, how can we exist without any God?
what’s close minded is to think what God is, not to believe he exists.
Wonderful comparison, Judi
you say there is no difference between the two… there is.. one is right.. one is wrong.
I agree with your X-men power. After all, isn’t that how you scares Ron into submission? lol…
I haven’t seen the movie X-men and think I have only seen the series a couple of times so it would be difficult for me to give an opinion. Primarlily today I would like to see Super Woman or Wonder Woman walk through the door and get all the things done that I seem to be able to. Hope you are having a good week. ~ mom
Over time I have come to believe is that there is no such thing as polar opposites. I see things as cyclical, with a particular person’s view, beliefs or experience just resting along different points in a cycle. In this way of thinking, those polar opposites are actually occasions where two extremes converge and, as you have so eloquently pointed out, have more in common than differences. Atheist-Theist. Love-Hate. Life-Death.
Our reality depends on our understanding of this world. It is shaped by our life experience. I don’t think we can come to a conclusion as what the absolute Truth is. However, each of us is responsible to live the life as fully as we want to be. The belief might be different, but the desire to experience love, peace and joy remain the same across all belief systems. One question remains: Whose love, peace and joy is it? The difference might be how much you are willing to let go your definition of your personal love, peace and joy and take the definition of others into consideration..
Hehe I’m a cyclops too!
