Listen to these statements: “No one really values or appreciates me. I don’t feel especially needed at work or at home. I am not making a difference. I feel empty inside. My life lacks meaning; something’s missing. I’m lonely. I’m bored. I’m angry, scared, and can’t afford to loose my job. I’m stuck in a rut. I never seem to get ahead. I can’t change a thing. My spouse doesn’t understand me. My kids don’t listen to me……”
The pain is deep. You may relate with some of these statements. Why are there so many of us looking so unhappy, dull, bored, as if we are muddling through life? Because we’ve been imitating. We wanted to be somebody else. We wanted to be at somebody else’s house and nobody’s attending to our own house. Maybe it is time we use our time and energy attending to our own home. It is time to stay home and work on these questions: Who am I? What is my authenticity? What is my original face?
If we don’t know who we are, our lives will be long series of accidents; and whatever happens we will never be satisfied. Discontent or dissatisfaction will be the only flavor we taste in life.
So, find the courage to seek out your original face. Trust in your own being and listen to your own voice. You are the center of your world. It is your life and if you are not kind to yourself, who is going to be kind to you? If you are not listening to your voice, who is going to listen to you? If you are wasting your life, it is nobody else’s responsibility. It won’t be the responsibility of your parents, spouse, friends, boss, children, Jesus, Buddha or God. They are not your saviors. Be responsible toward yourself. Everything else comes next.

I’m not sure if aligning yourself with your truest nature is necessarily the essential link to curing those negative thought patterns but i suppose it couldnt hurt. It’s a strange thing when you say something positive about someone or offer that they should think well of themselves and they actually fight you on it. I like the idea of not really believing any one particular thing, that youre too limitless and infinite to be pinned to one or a few simple thoughts.
great post!!
i do relate to these statements….
It begs the question, what is our original face if we are just wanting to teach others?
I try to not tell myself any of those negative thoughts.
No, the secret is to give correct their mistake, let them know that you’d have taken points off, but don’t. Then they feel like you’re so generous. See, I’ve got all this scheme figured out. lol…
i try to be neutral at times, when i feel angry or dissappointed, i tend to ask myself “it may be just me.” It works sometimes but well…. there are times where my mind went booboo and crashed.
Great post. Only I am responsible for me.
yep, so true and something I am learning daily.
*smiles*
HEY! you must have gone back and re read some of my blogs:) only.. I disagree… Jesus is my saviour He is the one I answer to. Its when I try to do things in MY strength, MY way that things start going to hell..
I have gone back and reread that final paragraph several times. It is so excellent. I work with challenged students at the university. (1st generation to attend college, financially disadvantaged, entering with the academic need for remedial classes prior to college level classes) Would you object if I posted it in the study lab?
Wow, good post TrimTab.
You are right, and I guess that is one of our more personal challenges, in life. I know it is mine.
BelinaRising, I have no objection.
