  • “I can’t get no, satisfaction…..”

Happiness is proportional to satisfaction and inversely proportional to desires.  The higher the satisfaction, the higher the happiness.  The higher the desires, the lower the happiness.  As Desires approach zero (and it may be possible for some), then Happiness is equal to infinity.   When we divide anything by a zero, it becomes infinity.  Imagine boundless, infinite happiness…..?

The question is how do we obtain satisfaction?

  • I can’t imagine boundless infinite happiness because my short sighted human mind conceives that eternal happiness cannot exist without pain.

Satisfaction for me comes when I get outside of self and help others. The dissatisfaction comes when my ego comes into play and will not allow this.

Today I feel unsure and confused so this deep of question is unclear to me.

  • I don’t want infinity happiness, 100% is good enough … hehehe

    Have a good day.

  • By breathing in and breathing out…

Ok, so after I meditate I feel that. Unfortunately, I always have some sort of desire pecking away at me. Like now…I desire a strong latte and a sandwich.

  • Satisfaction can only be realized if one learns how to not want for things….the rich or poor person can bother be equally unsatisfied.

  • obtaining satisfaction…

i’d say that people who pursue the perfect happiness will never be satisfied, yet the people who do “obtain” this satisfaction is when they stop searching for it…

  • Still have desires but don’t need them to be fulfilled? Become the witness.?

Be completely happy with right now. Stop resisting the present.

    Have a satisfying day!

  • when you divide anything by 0 you get an error because you cant do it

you cant just be happy all the time its not human. You can be happy a lot though

  • Good question…….I am still thinking…..LOLZ.  Have a good day chi..

  • New math! Now wait a minute… If happiness is satisfaction divided by desires, then that means satisfaction is happiness multiplied by our desires, and multiplying anything by 0 equals 0… Hmmm

  • A very wise person onced said ” to desire something want nothing, if you want more seak less”! Zero is perfect ballance!

  • The Stones said it best… I cant get no… satisfaction… but I try, but I try….

  • I think by choosing happiness/satisfaction in the moment instead of hoping for some future desire to bring you happiness. “A way of traveling, not a destination.”

  • Dude, I mean, dudess, I just listened to this song in a movie a few weeks ago (it’s the lattest movie I’ve seen).

  • Still learning and growing, but it seems right to me that it’s through learning to be content whatever the circumstances….

  • And I think happiness will elude those who pursue it as a goal in itself.

  • I think we become satisfied by merely being satisfied with what we have, instead of wasting time trying to gain, gain, gain, just sit back and enjoy the_roses,Peace

  • Yes, Satisfaction comes by being present in the Moment. When we allow ourselves to be here, and look around, and feel good? That is where it comes from.

Stop. Breathe in and Out. Notice something Good around you. Smile, and think a grateful thought. There’s the recipe.

  • Yeah, we can’t get no satisfaction. We can only be satisfied when we don’t try to get it.
